My new hair. I don't know why I put my eye photo first, but I did. I, eye, I, eye, I...it's all about me.
Technically this is just new colour, or decolour, not a cut, courtesy of Angel who altered me on Sunday dressed in a leather kilt. He ministered to my head for hours while it basted in goo, and it paid off - the colour turned out right the first time, which is a miracle. He's a schtar! My hair is still in shock, though, looking like fried egg whites on my head.
Angel did my hair at a former salon but when he left I entrusted my colour to someone else. Big mistake (last salon fiasco). Magically, just when I needed him again, Angel reappeared at a salon called Chemically Addicted - great chandeliers, not snooty, offerings of beverages and lovely magazines, convenient central location on Davie Street, and open seven days a week. I only go to a salon once every six to eight months so it's important to get it right! Although I can personally vouch for Angel's work, the other stylists there were also very friendly and their customers left with big grins. I went back to Chemically Addicted on Monday and photographed Angel for my street style blog, here. His own website is here.
Today was rainy (Wed) and there was only one thing for it: scribbles and colour in the form of my upcycled rockstar DIY pants and jacket. You'll note the same striped sweater from my previous post, I'm in love with it. And Turnip Head, who recently ate Miz Bagg - then vomited her up again.
I've had more work come in and can't comment as much as I'd like but I'm making quick rounds. In my free time I'm working on VOGOFF as well. I'm excited about this issue. For me, it's all about letting go and releasing my fear of making mistakes...heh. I'll be back soon.
your hair looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, your hair looks fabulous, You Look Fabulous like a rockstar, rocking your rockstar pants and jacket, such amazing colors and coolnessssss!!!
ReplyDeleteFinding a fav hairstylist is miraculous, never let him gone!!
besos
Your hair looks great, suits your demure, restrained style. . .;-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't the rain perfect? I know well tire of it very soon, but all seems so much fresher now.
I'm LOVING your hair....the cut and colour are just fab. Rocking it! Gosh you're gorgeous! Xx
ReplyDeleteRockstar hair, rockstar pants...I'm sensing a theme!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when our hair god/goddesses re-appear? You look like a veritable schtar, yourself, you! Love the platinum hair. xox
ReplyDeleteIt's hair time! You needed to wear your brightest clothes to make sure you didn't outshine them with your hair. Making you shine like a torch from on top! Of course your new colour is amazing and so you. I love the idea of colouring my hair but it all seems so much work(and money). I'm hoping to suddenly go grey one day to give me a change. So far I hope in vain:-( love your drawn head too! What a fab idea. XO JJ
ReplyDeleteThat color white is so difficult to get, Angel did a killer job, you look hot! I love all color and those pink lips! Angel is a hottie too!
ReplyDeleteXxoo
How does someone get mod, cute, crazy, hip, sleek and sassy all in one cut? Well Angel did it that's for sure. It's fantazmic!
ReplyDeleteYou have gorgeous eye brows too by the way. So don't go back to the 70s and pluck them out. You'll regret it in the future.
You are so gorgeous with your platinum hair and rockstar clothes...great post!
ReplyDeleteThe eye shot is very Kubrickian! I love the new hair! You look marvelous!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the platinum blonde hair of an Angel - or rather, a Melanie who looks like an angel! Love it, and the rockstar pants, perfect for rockstar you. And Miss Turnip Head too, it's always good to see her (though she and Miz Bagg obviously Have Issues...)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the extra work, and Vogoff, make sure you get some messing around time too! xxx
You are glowing! You have a halo, and the coolest clothes. Your turnip-head mask actually looks perfectly normal with your painted clothes, but then we're denied another picture of your hair. I just keep scrolling up to see it again - Angel did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteWhen Miz Bagg was vomited up, was she reconstituted into a nicer person?
Perfect colour ! And you look like rockstar !
ReplyDeleteYou really are a walking rainbow. The hair is a sweet frothy meringue topper.
ReplyDeletebisous

Ooooh, I'm glad you found your angel again! He really has worked magic with your hair colour! Gorgeous! And I agree with Joni...your eyebrows look fabulous too! Your hair is like the perfect white wall ( I mean that has a compliment). Just right for displaying your art; in this case, your colourful jeans and jacket! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteFried egg whites on your head! Looking good!
ReplyDeleteYum! Fried egg white hair. It looks great. And there is something absolutely perfect about your outfit. All the different colors and patterns should be fighting with each other but apparently held high level negotiations and have formed a true and lasting peace! Perfection!
ReplyDeleteHail! Hail! Rockangelschtar the Mighty! The Hair, the Maquillage, the Stylin Deets of the Artisanal Suit - all divine. Your leg photo alone is a tantalizing conundrum for all ages. I especially love hearing you so energized as we enter paroxysms of VOGOFF anticipation.
ReplyDeleteOh heck I could do with an Angel to help fix up my fringe. I love your hair. Rainy days suit you down to the ground coz any day you drag out your rockstar painted jacket and pants is a holiday for me. Oh how I wish I had the emotional energy to get a contribution in for the next Vogoff, but I will wait with joy for the next issue. xoxoxoox
ReplyDeleteYou're inspiring me to go un-natural. This may or may not be a good thing......
ReplyDeleteWe do love our hair Angels (and especially one in a leather kilt!!) The salon where my angel Melanie works sounds like yours - fancy with good beverages and reading material, but not snobby. Mine also has great massage chairs at the sinks.
ReplyDeleteI really like the glowing white of your hair - it is very hard to get that colour, I know, I tried, and suffered scalp burns as a result. It plays off the explosion of colour on the rest of you very well.
PERFECTION. You make me want an Angel in my life. XXXXOOOO
ReplyDeleteYou are such a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an artist.... Here you go, publishing an article about your new hair and there is only one good full picture in the post showing us your hair. Fancy managzines do that as well. Art over clarity. Had it been me (very little art within me..) I would have published five photos of my new hair from different angles. Oh well. For as far as I can see (...) your hair looks great. I like this colour on you, it becomes you, it is you.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Angel gives good colour, what a star! and you too! it's beautiful - I hope Mizz Bagg survived the reconstitution, Turnip Head looks so innocent x x x
ReplyDeleteWow look at your shock of white tresses. The last time I went blonde I went to a salon and had bleach on my hair for about 4 hours too. This time I thought I'd try and be clever and do it myself, ha! Yours looks great. Don't you just love the texture of bleached hair and the way just a few hand scrunches and it's good to go:) x
ReplyDeleteSexy hair!!! YES!
ReplyDeleteAngel is indeed an Angel of hair-ministry, and in a leather kilt too. So, from one divine vision (I took a look at his website), to another: you with the super-fabulous, swan's-wing-white hair. Electric.
ReplyDeleteAngel is the master indeed - Good job he did, bleaching is not easy to master -
ReplyDeleteI'm not around on the bloggershpere either, too many things to do before the wedding Saturday!
But i try to comment as much as i can and i will be on Instagram when i leave for Europe but don't have Instagram - I will send you pics of where we are, and what we see and meet while i'm there -
Love and hugs
Arianexo
My cat would just love to lick your hair. It looks that good. Not to mention drawing on your clothes - always way cool to the max. Your eyeball pix reminds me of that surrealist film by Dali. eeeee. What a wonder, Turnip Head and you wear the same size at the same time. Hopefully she did her eating/ vomiting elsewhere...
ReplyDeleteChemically Addicted! Great name and worthy of an Angel. You look fabulous! You, your hair and your addictive color combinations.
ReplyDeletelove the haaaaair!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that colour!!!
