Breaking News

I was interviewed on June 27 by Lisa Christiansen for the show On The Coast on CBC Radio One, Canada's national radio broadcaster, about Bill Cunningham's impact on my life. She had read my small tribute to Mr. Cunningham on Bag and a Beret and seen my street style blog and wanted to hear my thoughts on life with/without this great man.

If you'd like to hear what I said, go HERE. I'm at time code 01:01:00 for about five minutes. It's only a small part of a show over 2 hours called On The Coast, June 27.

Thank you, Lisa Christiansen and Stephen Quinn, show host, for including me in your broadcast, as well as your kind words at the end of the segment. It was an absolute honour to be able to talk about this incredible man whose positive influence greatly affected my own style journey. He was loved around the world.

[Edit: People living outside of Canada have had difficulty listening to the link above. As a result I have had permission to post the clip, which you'll see in the YouTube below. This should work. Good luck! Heh.]

Lisa took my photo too and it's on her Twitter HERE. That will have to count as an outfit photo because I didn't post one here. Heh.

    1. Hahaha. In this case, Bill has all the star power. If I shine here it's only because I'm in the glow Bill casts.
But YES, Ms Bekker will regret it BIG TIME! She missed out on all of us.

    1. Is the stratosphere like the glass ceiling for over-achievers? No fear of that happening!!! Thanks, Samanatha.

    1. I have been captivated by people's remembrances. I sometimes feel like a fraud sharing my story, not having known him, but as twee as it sounds, the documentary affected my life - I was ready for change.

  7. Ding dangit. I cannot get that broadcast to play on any of my computers. But I am certain that you said wonderful insightful things because that is what you do. Did you know that they lit up the Eiffel Tower French work jacket blue in honor of
    Bill? Bravo.

  11. grrr. okay, the first time I tried to listen, nada. I thought it maybe was for Canadians only. I tried again (for some reason) today, and voila, sound. But, I could not get back to your time frame of 1:01. I was stuck at 2:07 and forward. period. Or is it a Canadian conspiracy? Maybe I am powerless with this high tech stuff??!!! argh.

Regardless of my inability, you are blessed and cool to boot. Sending out and receiving all those good vibrations.

    1. Yes, it seems to be a Canadian conspiracy. What's up with this archived sound not playing for everyone? Maybe it's copyright stuff...? Who knows?

    1. He was a unique man who ran on passion. I feel a bit of a fraud talking about someone I didn't know in real life, but my vision of Mr. Cunningham, no matter how skewed, was very real and powerful and positive. Thanks for commenting.
