Faking colours and re-runners

I'm linking to Share-in-Style: White with Mis Papelicos and Sheila for Shoe Shine at Ephemera. I linked these platform runners before (Shoe Shine #3) but I'd rather do re-runners than nothing at all. And as for white, although the dress is salmon pink, I edited it to be white, which counts. Call my lawyer.

The dress is a thrifted vintage dream, possibly a wedding dress, made by Tachi Castillo in Mexico. The undulating tide of pink is more than I am used to but the crackle nature of the stretchy poly/cotton fabric cancels out the femininity. (Curtise posted a lovely crackle-free garment today.) The beautiful lacy bits are see-through so I wore my skinny red tartan jeans under it. Of course, that's my turnip head.

And a reminder:
The VOGOFF submission deadline is only TEN days away!!
Get out your cameras. Right this minute! Or not...

  1. Oh shit, I forgot about Vogoff! Dang, I have to do something...

I care not about re-runners, re-boots or re-sandals! Bring on the shoes! Gorgeous dress - so very pink.

  3. Ha, most of my outfits are re-runs, it's all good! And you can borrow my crackle free slip anytime you like!
Love that dress, both in the bleached out version and its true pinkiness. And of course a turnip head is the accessory du jour this season, I believe. But check with Miz Bagg, if she's not too ferociously busy. Or just ferocious! xxx

  7. I love the cartoon head! I want one.

What a score on the dress.

I didn't participate in the white challenge because I practically never wear white. Now you've given me this great idea.

Someday I'll write something for Vogoff. I'm in a moment of rebirth and my thoughts are too scattered for most other people...and I'm not quite cool enough yet.

  14. Re-run-run-run-run yeah! Your dear turnip-head and crackly lace inserts were the inspiration - I longed to attend Share-In-Style: White, but was scared to even peek at the outfits over there for fear of spilling stainy things all over the place. But then I witnessed your magical and totally legal transformation, and took heart from my pal Old Glo (who cared for her snowy down by rolling in the dirt after all), and viola! Melanie, I would clomp behind you anywhere. xoxo

  16. The magic touch!! With a swish of your wand, the pink dress becomes a frothy white confection!! Well done!! Miss Turnip Head is blushing, I can see. See how she turns her feet akimbo just to show her adorableness? Miz Bagg must be getting restless, too. I feel sorry for the waiters. XXOO

  17. Why the long face? I did call your lawyer and he said that a pink dress is considered to be white under international law when it looks like a sugary confection of ruffly fun. So you qualify!

  19. I want a life-size poster version of the photo of you in the salmon dress with turnip head! LOVE IT! The dress is a bit more flouncy and toned down colour-wise than your usual outfits, but it works beautifully with the turnip head, and the colour matches your blushing cheeks. Good think you added the chunky kicks or I'd think you were going all soft for a minute there ;)
