Fun colors together! The jacket especially is beyoootiful, and the silk skirt? scarf? is intriguing and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant combinations and I've ANOTHER case of boot lust, between you, Amber, Pao and all. I just have to breathe and let it go, you know? I love the proportions on this ensemble, too. XXOO
ReplyDeleteLook who's talking, dolly-with-the-fab-boots!
DeleteYou do totally look splendid. I love the combo of the different textures, rich patterns, and color palette. Jealous of all those layers :)
ReplyDeleteTee hee you can't have pattern leaking down your limbs, it would be a travesty!!!! But I do just love this outfit very very much the tapestry jacket is so beautiful and just sings with the floral silk skirt.
ReplyDeleteYou really are so very stylish Miss Melanie.
Oh oh the wonderful Mr Furry black cat hat is amazing in the last post too!!!!
Love v
Great patterns - wish I could see more of the dress it looks lovely. The layers look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I wonder what would happen if you didn't cap off your ends in black... Where would all that colour and pattern end up? Dare you find out?!
ReplyDeleteLove the prints and the textures and the kickass boots, just brilliant! xxx
I think that wonderful jacket was my grandparents' couch in the early 70s...
ReplyDeleteLooking so chic and fab, Melanie! You could chase away the clouds!
What a gorgeous coat. I love the patterns.
ReplyDeleteThere's never too many patterns! Your coat is simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe layering of skirts is fabulous, and the pop of colour and patterns blow my mind and make me want to get up and create, ahhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteMy dear Melanie you are such a rich source of unique inspiration in my life.

Love the pattern clashing and the zing-pop colours at the hem! Fab!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it would have been beautiful pattern anarchy! Splendid-and-like-it-very-much-to-wear must be an understatement, I'd be floating about three feet off the ground - thank goodness for Olive Oyl boots with their sweet grounding caveyness. Just gorgeous, my friend.
ReplyDeletePerfect patterns and colours mix! Those skirts form a natural continuation to your silk dress's hem and the colours live in a heavenly harmony!
ReplyDeleteI love this stunning tapestry outfit!!

Glorious prints! This is making me smile as I have the first coffee du jour. Love the tapestry sooooo much. Thanks for linking it up to Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is heavenly - good thing you got those boots to weigh you down! I'm all about the toe cave as well, which is why I love my shiny blue boots so much. The floaty sherbet-y colours of your many underlayers are soooooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteBesides the so attractive silhouette, and the engaging mix of patterns, I'm really taken by the blend of textures. If people are staring at you in this outfit, it's good staring! Super ensemble.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all the potential that the New Year holds!
I love the green ruffle bits at the bottom. Nice combo of color and patterns
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some silky things in my closet. I'm just going to have to acquire some somehow. It's a good reason to go to the Goodwill store at any rate! You look lovely.
ReplyDeleteClassic Melanie! I would not hesitate to think for a minute that you were an artist if I saw you on the street. And a super fun and witty personality on top of all that. I would love to have a coffee table book filled with your photos! Oh, and your paintings!
ReplyDeleteOlive Oyl..now there was a gal with style. Tho I must say you've got her beat!
ReplyDeleteBut the argyle sox are the best! ooo, a bag and a beret calendar is what I'm waiting for. I'll pay anything for one! or a weekly planner... or a melanie a day...
ReplyDeleteYES! agree! a melanie a day!
DeleteFabulous outfit ! Love it all...the mix pattern,colours..very nice :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and pattern in your jacket. And the boots....
ReplyDeleteI saw a pair similar at the thrift store months ago in both brown and black...picked them up...and though "no, I don't need those", and put them back. How many times since have I wished I'd bought both pair of those boots? Too many to count. I tear up thinking about how I could have been so dodo brained as to pass up the perfect boot.
splendid indeed, the jacquard pattern and fabric are just fantastic, like something from an 18th century dandy's waistcoat. The skirt is so floaty and summery and the boots are indeed very Olive Oyl. It's all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift you have! You are a chameleon and able to weave magical stories with your outfits. Parisian diva one day, and fairy tale forest girl the next.
ReplyDeleteVery cool use of colour with the hemlines. Just what we need on these gray days.

It was a good time . . . our daughter refers to it as one of our "Geezer Parties", but she has been calling it that for 20 years, :)
Wishing you sunny skies or a great umbrella.
Oh my, I'll bet you have a collection. Have you ever done an umbrella post?
