Those pieces that are thrifted are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love that fedora! A hat is essential when it's rainy and miserable (just as it is over here). The tie is really splendid too!
ReplyDeleteOh you are looking smashing as usual. I love dandy style so I love this outfit. Those jeans are the best fit. How wonderful they look on you. And the hat: perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am having a flashback remembering the fedora I had when I was 13! I love this look - you remind me of Annie Lennox from the 90s. I also like the contrast of the two layered blouses and pinstripe skirt from your post below. :) xo
ReplyDeleteOooh, I am feeling like a Raymond Chandler novel now -- you are amazing in your gangster git-up. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteGrunge-Queen's stolen my thunder, I was going to say Annie Lennox's cooler younger sister. All that's missing is a violin case with a fully loaded weapon hidden inside, you bad ass! x
ReplyDeleteYou are so gangsta you have robbed me of speech :P
ReplyDeletethis is amazing - Runyon ate your heart out! I love this look on you, who knows what kinda rackets you got going on? Keep being inspiring and gorgeous! xxx
ReplyDeleteLook out tony Soprano-Miz Melanie the gun moll is in town!!
ReplyDeleteAnnie Lennox was always my idol ... now she has been replaced ... !

I am feeling a definite "men's vibe" from this outfit... :-)!!!
ReplyDeleteBad to the bone Melanie. BAD TO THE BONE. :-)
Holy moly! You are film noir's brightest fashion moment. I love the tie- the way it stands out yet fits right in. And keep rockin' the fedora it is a gem.
ReplyDeleteAh, the androgynous look is made for you! Love it so much!
ReplyDeleteOh Melanie, you make a fabulously beautiful gangster! The fedora is wonderful, and the whole androgynous vibe is perfect, so cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd HOW long are your legs? A mile?
Brilliant, and all the more so for every item being thrifted! xxxxx
Great thrifted finds. Such a bold look. I can just see you walking down a gray rainy street, holding your fedora and bent against the wind and rain.
ReplyDeleteVery cool post! And yes, very gangsta lookin'.
ReplyDeleteYessir. You'd make Sam Spade proud.

You are so money in this look! I think I love it too much!
ReplyDeleteYou are the coolest, baddest woman I know and the only one with that could come up with a post this unique and fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI bet when you go out and about people think they are spotting a celebrity but they just aren't sure who. You just have... THE LOOK.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your post as much as seeing your outfits - always extremely entertaining! You look amazing - with the most incredibly long legs ever! I remember you did a Clint Eastwood inspired outfit too, a while back. This is probably even more successful!
ReplyDeleteI love me some real gritty Film Noir, now I wanna watch The Big Heat. That fedora is fierce you look tough but still sexy like a girl! I would wanna go drinking with you in that to Beaker and Flask. It's a favorite bar of mine that mixes crazy cocktails and serves them in vintage drink ware. The place is beautifully simple and dark, kinda like this outfit! You look amazing sweetie!
ReplyDeleteYou are the hero(ine?) of your own detective novel. You've certainly got the "speak" down pat, and the look. You need to have your own one-woman show where all of your characters (Mizz Baggs included) get their 15 minutes of fame. Awesome hat, by the way.
ReplyDeleteTotally rockin" this look!
ReplyDeleteI can see why the fur felt fedora had several outings! Along with the entire ensemble. You can pull off any look with panache and then dazzle with the written word. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteYou are always as sleek as a little white cat! Really brilliant personal style. Not everyone pulls it off so comfortably. Just amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great profile. Also, I love your writing style.
ReplyDeleteYou are so gritty (and witty)! And then I looked at your last post - what a difference a day makes!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love love love the androgynous style, you styled & rocked it perfectly..can't wait to see more of this!

ReplyDeleteWow, Melanie in jeans! You look loooong and lean in your 1930's gangster style. A hat can sure inspire an entire week, eh?
ReplyDeleteJust when I think I've chosen my favorite....you whip out the gangster/private eye in a fedora and I can't resist.
ReplyDeleteEXQUISITE! Poifect, ackshully. Yous is like a chameleon, I tells ya. I feel a bit sorry for yas, ya need some fly fishing on ya tie. But otherwise, yas look purdy good. Rock star. Sarah xxx
