Go-go-sno boots

First:
A HUGE HUG to MIS PAPELICOS!!!
for putting me on her blog today.
I will never shut up about your bug necklace -
I LOOOVE it SO!!!

Today's outfit: Heavy flurrious snowflakes - time for the big guns - my go-go boots. Despite the heel, they have the most manly traction on slippery surfaces of any boots I own. And since this is probably one of the last snowfalls of the season (I hope) I had to wear my ultra-heavy winter coat and faux fur hat that makes it almost impossible to see anything.

The faux fur collar is out in force again today too, this time as outer wear. I needed an umbrella to keep my camera dry. Oh, so complicated!

Oh, those pesky lens flares - I try scrubbing and soaking and I still can't get them out!
Above is what I wore inside my coat. That's my hair - I don't think you've seen it before because I'm always wearing my beret.

Details of the outfit:

  • inside-out faux fur coat - I like the pile lining outside and it seems warmer that way
  • puff-sleeved, cropped cotton top from Tokyo, new (about 20 years ago)
  • slate-grey, long-sleeved T-shirt under the top, Metallicus
  • wool thrifted skirt made in France
  • black tights, and pseudo-go-go boots from the "Loser" pile at Winners
  • faux fur collar with home-made ties, as debuted in an earlier post

Below is a cartoon of me in my hat:

Happy weekend, everyone!

  1. Oh, your cartoon. I tried to wear a hat today...without much success. I love the "bigness" of the coat and what a great pair of boots. And, you deserve all the introductions you're getting.

  7. Oh my goodness... What DON'T I like about this? NOTHING!!!!!
LOVE the balloon sleeve on the top. I have a vintage jacket with the same shape sleeve - it has a seam at the forearm to make the shape - very Balenciaga-esque.
The hat... the hat... I wish it were cold enough to wear a hat like that here. No, I lie. I like warm soCal winters.

    1. Balloon sleeves are one of my favourite things! Lucky you, you don't have to worry about bundling! But the snow can be beautiful for about an hour.

  9. Love da cartoon! And whatta neat outfit. Hard to believe those go-go boots can cut it in the snow. Go figure!

You're taking the blogging world by storm. And that's as it should be!

Oh, by the way, thought of another venue for your photos. How about trying the Museum of Anthropology? Don't you think you could look great next to those totem poles??

    Cheers, Rosemary from England www.foreveronthecatwalkoflife.com

    1. Hello Rosemary! About your suggestion of standing next to the totem poles, if I wore my butterfly-sleeved dress with my arms stretched out (which I love doing in that dress), they'd think I was part of the exhibition!

And actually, the only storm going on is in my closet! Aaaack!! Good to hear from you.

    1. Thanks, Jean. I love mod and Twiggy and Vespas (I used to have a baby-blue one with a windshield, sigh). The red boots in your last post were phenomenal!! The meteoric rise thing is an urban myth. I hope you're having a good weekend too.

    1. You are right that the cold should not be an impediment to expressing ourselves - we are in every look we create. Thanks for that thoughtful comment. Your artist's eye shines on your blog.

  14. Haha, love your cartoon!
You look very warm and rather Russian in the pic with the fur hat. I never would have thought anything with a heel would be non-slip, so that just shows what I know (not much!) The go-go boots are fabulous.
I like your hair, although your beret is a bit of a trademark. Hat or no hat - you look wonderful! xxxxx

    1. Hello. My clothes often take me to some fantasy Russia place... Yes, my hat is a trademark of sorts, but I do like my hair too. I shall try to let it breathe more often. Thanks!

    1. There was a lonely pile of these boots, nobody wanted them, so I guess they are rescue boots - we are happy together now. I don't shop at Winners often and I don't often see incredible outfits like you wear at Winners either!
