I wasn't sure whether to go with black tights and black shoes or mustard tights and red shoes - I chose the black and black to ground myself and get framing with my hat and gloves, plus it makes the look a bit warmer on this chilly day, especially when I'm already chilling it with a white coat. The Chanel sunglasses were a gift, used.
Details of the outfit:
- thrifted Armani Exchange coat, $20 or so, Value Village
- knit scarf from Sears I think
- blue stretch dress from Metallicus, and lots of T-shirts under it from Metallicus (layering at 5 degrees C)
- vintage shiny black shoes with short deadly heels
That's it. I look forward to checking out all your Visible Monday looks too. Thanks, Patti, for this forum, at Not Dead Yet Style.
Oh yes, the "original" white of this coat looks just perfect with your gray dress and black tights/shoes -- what a great find that coat was! Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday : >
ReplyDeleteHi, Patti,
DeleteThanks for your comment. And again, thanks for hosting his fun event on Mondays.
Oh, I love the palette in this outfit, the cool winter colors. And, I like the translation of visible to invincible. What had you been planning to paint on the coat.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I'd dilute some acrylic paint with water to avoid getting a plastic finish and make a colour gradient from blue/greens to red/yellows, with a few contrasting colour strokes along the way. The coat is dry-clean only so I didn't want to dye it - it was a make or break thing. I did in fact machine-wash on gentle and hang dry and it worked perfectly. But now I like the white and will be much more gentle with this baby.
DeleteI know what you mean about the white coat thing but yours looks so chic! I can see why it was spreading positive energy! Would love to see it with the colored stockings too!
ReplyDeleteI thought the white coat thing was just me, so I'm glad to know that you're of the same mind. I guess couching the white in other colours is what does the trick. Thanks for dropping by and following!

In my profile I also have some blogs listed as "BLOGS I READ" when I they should actually be "BLOGS I FOLLOW," so I need to fix that, but I should still show up as a mini icon among your followers. If you still can't see me in google follow, please let me know!! I looooove your blog, your style, your thoughts.
